The Mexican Expatriate Psychologist

This site documents my journey towards (almost) becoming an expatriate in the country of Mexico. There are many things that I've learned on my way that I would like to share with you.

Who am I?
I'm an educational and clinical Psychologist from the state of California. I live near the border of Mexico, and I love the Mexican/Latin American culture. This site documents my journey towards understanding Latin American culture. This includes learning the Spanish language, information on the culture of Mexico, and information on living in Mexico or other Latin American countries.

Expatriate or Immigrant?

The first thing that I want to say is that my interest in living in Mexico as an expatriate isn't accurate. My interest is to become an immigrant to Mexico or other Latin American country. It's a bit contentious to describe myself as an expatriate to Mexico, and Mexicans who come to the United States, where I live, as immigrants rather than expatriates. The reality is that we are all immigrants, each of us seeking a better life in another country. That is immigration.
